Bio
Since 1984, Dr. Dewey has been dedicated to the field of orthopaedic surgery. He initiated his educational journey at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN, where he majored in Biomedical Engineering during both his undergraduate and post-graduate years. Continuing his academic path, he pursued medical school at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN. To refine his skills, he completed an internship and residency at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY.
Further enhancing his expertise, he successfully completed a fellowship in orthopaedic trauma and foot and ankle surgery at Harborview Medical Center, University of Washington, located in Seattle, WA. His quest for knowledge persisted through additional training in prosthetics and orthotics at the University of California, Los Angeles, situated in Los Angeles, CA. Furthermore, in 1988, he completed a hand fellowship from the Kleinert Institute for Hand and Microsurgery in Louisville, KY.
He is board certified in orthopaedic surgery and was certified by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics, and Pedontics in Orthotics and Prosthetics. With a broad range of skills, Dr. Dewey specializes in comprehensive general orthopaedics, including total joint replacements, revisions, and reconstruction. He also focuses on orthopaedic trauma and offers both surgical and non-surgical treatments for foot and ankle conditions. Dr. Dewey provides care to patients of all ages, encompassing both adults and pediatric cases.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Dewey finds fulfillment in various passions. He cherishes his family, actively engages in humanitarian efforts, has a fondness for motorcycles, and is a dedicated supporter of the Tennessee Volunteers and professional hockey as the team physician for the Pensacola Ice Flyers.
